4th of July events in Connecticut 2017

Although many towns have scheduled their events right on the Fourth of July, others have theirs before or after that date. Also, many have “rain dates” in case the weather does not cooperate. Since there are so many Independence Day celebrations, here we will only concentrate on some of those scheduled on the actual date of our country's birthday.

Raise the Flag and Fireworks – Greenwich

The flag raising will be at the Fourth of July Celebration on Tuesday, July 4, at 9:00 AM at the Town Hall. The Fireworks Display will be on Saturday, July 1, at dusk at Binney Park and Greenwich Point.

The annual 'Raise The Flag' Ceremony is an important part of the town's annual celebration. It is to honor the citizens who are descendants of the founding families, as a salute to the patriots for giving their lives during the Revolutionary War, and to recognize Good Citizen winners from Greenwich schools. You will be able to watch the Greenwich Scouts parade the flags of the 13 original colonies. After the ceremony, enjoy refreshments inside the Town Hall.

Search for Fireworks Sunset Cruise

Departs at 7:30 PM from Eagle Landing State Park and returns around 10:00 PM

Connecticut River – Haddam, CT

Connecticut River Expeditions will again host this annual cruise along the edge of the river searching for fireworks shows since there are no scheduled ones. You can bring a picnic basket and/or a favorite beverage to enjoy and relax during the journey.

Connecticut Tigers Fourth of July Celebration

7:05 PM is when the game starts

Dodds Stadium – Norwich, CT

There will be a display of fireworks by Pyrotecnico immediately following the Tigers’ game against the Vermont Lake Monsters.

RCA July 4th Fireworks

9:15 PM - Bayley Beach – Rowayton, CT

Sponsored by the RCA, the fireworks will light up the sky offshore as they will be launched from a barge. The performance will last about 30 minutes.

Vehicles need a Bayley Beach sticker to be admitted, or a Special Event Parking Fee costing $40 will be charged to non-residents. Cars parked illegally will be towed, and owners will be fined $50 plus towing costs, which will be payable at 11:00 PM. Otherwise, cars will be taken to Connecticut Towing in Norwalk. Therefore, we recommend employing the help of our Connecticut car service, so you won't have to worry about any car related problems.

Family Fourth of July Celebration

Waveny Park – New Canaan, CT

Activities will include family picnicking, music, children's games, a food court, and a fireworks display. Event passes are needed to enter the park and may be purchased at the office of the Recreation Department, Town Hall, and online.
