How to Make Working from Home Bearable

Working late is just part of life. Sometimes you’ve got to stay behind and pull an all-nighter. Everyone goes through it in their career, and it often means that you’ve got a job worth keeping.

But it doesn’t have to be difficult. In fact, you can make it fun.

At Premier Limo, we offer Connecticut ground transportation to all sorts of business people, so we know how to make working late more bearable.

Here are a few tips we’ve learned:

Work in Small Doses

When you’ve already been staring at a screen for eight hours, you need to give yourself a break. Try working in 60-90 minute intervals, giving yourself a ten-minute break in between. It also helps to get some fresh air. Athletes and highly skilled workers always perform better in short intervals, so it will also help your concentration levels.

Give Yourself a Treat

It always helps to give yourself a treat. If a nice coffee, some chocolate or even a small glass of that whiskey hiding in your drawer will spur you on, then use it. We’re not suggesting drinking a whole bottle or eating 5 chocolate bars, but treat yourself. You are working hard so you deserve it.

Call Your Loved Ones

Give your loved ones a call. Whether it’s your parents, partner or kids, give them a quick call and remind yourself that it’s all worth it!

Make A To-Do List

You don’t want to work all night and get nothing done. Make yourself a prioritized to-do list and stick to it! Put the most difficult and important tasks first and make sure you get them done. That way, if you give up early you’ll have completed the most important stuff.

Get Some Food

Order a takeaway and get some sustenance. You can’t work all night on an empty stomach.

Turn Your Music Up

Everyone else has gone home. Turn your music up and enjoy yourself! Make working late fun for yourself and it won’t seem like so much of a chore. Think about it as time for yourself.

Get Comfortable

Undo your tie, get a blanket or even sit on the floor if you want. You don’t have to sit upright at your desk now!

Go Home

If you can work from home, you should. Even if you’re sat at your computer, you can spend time with your family or even from the comfort of your bed.

Know When to Stop

There will come a point where you can’t keep working and it’s important to know when that is. If it takes you 2 hours to do a 10-minute job, then you might as well go home and get some sleep.

You can rest assured that whenever you need safe and reliable transportation, you can choose our Connecticut Airport Transfer or other Connecticut Ground Transportation service.
