Reasons To Vacation In Connecticut

Reasons to Vacation in Connecticut

Although Connecticut has been thought of as a pass through state if you're on your way to someplace else like New York or Boston, there are plenty of reasons to make Connecticut your destination, and Premiere Limo Service is there to serve as your airport shuttle in CT.

Connecticut offers visitors a rich variety of experiences. This small state has something for everyone whether they are nature lovers, history buffs, architecture enthusiasts or book lovers.

Want to spend a day at the beach? Bordering on the Long Island Sound and the Atlantic Ocean, Connecticut offers quite a few beach escapes. The town of Mystic in southern, CT is one of the most popular beach destinations in the state, and the town is dedicated to preserving its maritime history. The Mystic Maritime Museum is one of the largest maritime museums in the world. Rocky Neck State Park, Sherwood Island State Park, and Bluff Point State Park offer options along Long Island Sound. And of course, while you're in one of these areas, you should help yourself to some fresh seafood.

Hikers can enjoy both the Appalachian Trail and the New England Trail. The Appalachian Trail runs from Maine to Georgia through a woodland, hills and pastoral lands. The New England Trail covers 215 miles from Long Island Sound across mountain summits in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Not up for a hike? Consider a scenic train ride to take in fall foliage or view the coastal scenery on Amtrak or the Essex Steam Train. If you're interested in railroad history, check out the Naugatuck Railroad and the The Railroad Museum of New England. If you'd also like to take a trip into New York City, the Metro-North Railroad New Haven line can get you there.

Connecticut has a lot for history lovers as well. The Washington-Rochambeau Revolutionary Route National Historical Trail is the route where the French and Revolutionary armies met up during the American Revolution. To learn about Connecticut's role in the Civil War, visit The New England Civil War Museum in Rockville. Among the over 100 Civil War monuments in Connecticut are the Soldiers and Sailors Monument in New Haven and the Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport. You can visit Connecticut's stops on the Underground Railroad and visit the home of Harriet Beecher Stowe in Hartford.

While in Hartford, you can visit the home of Mark Twain where he wrote much of his famous books The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. You can tour his home, browse the museum, or take a writing workshop.

Hartford also has the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, housing an excellent collection of Hudson River School paintings. Other notable Hartford museums are the Connecticut Science Center and the Connecticut Historical Society.

Whether your Connecticut vacation has you taking in nature or learning about Connecticut's rich history, we at Premier Limousine are here to make your vacation special. Whether you need JFK car service or transportation to any of Connecticut's attractions, our chauffeurs will get you there safely and reliably.
