Top Tips to Avoid Chaos Over the Holidays

The Winter Holidays are great for spending time with your family. But some of us still have to travel for business, and that can prove difficult at this time of year.

The airports are full of relatives visiting each other, there are long delays because of the weather and things just don’t run as smoothly, but there are a few things that you can do to make it easier.

Premier Limo will continue to run as normal over the winter holidays so that you can arrive at your destination on time, and in style and comfort.

Here are our top tips to avoid the travel chaos this winter.

Do A Risk Assessment

This might sound boring, but it could really help you in the long run. Take a good look at your travel plans and think about how they could be disrupted or how you could improve them. The weather will play a big part in this, so check the detailed weather reports.

Check the Weather, Then Check It Again

We really want to drive this point home! The weather will be the biggest factor in any travel chaos you encounter. Download a detailed weather report app and check it regularly. Make a contingency plan if you think a flight could be delayed. You don’t want to spend the holidays stuck in a business airport lounge.

Do Your Research

If you organize your own business travel, then make sure you do plenty of research before traveling this holiday season. Check which days are going to be the busiest, which airports to avoid, find out what the peak times are in your destination and do everything you can to make sure you are armed with knowledge.

Avoid Stopovers Where Possible

Sometimes it is cheaper to get a flight with a stopover at a major airport. If cost isn’t an issue, then book a direct flight. By only getting on one flight, you are halving your chances of encountering a delay. You can even book a private plane at a surprisingly affordable price -  companies like Privatefly are worth checking out if you really want to avoid the chaos!

Dont Travel At Peak Times

Can you avoid traveling at peak times? If you don’t mind traveling in the middle of the night, you can avoid the rush of people traveling around the country. It’s also worth looking at which days are the busiest, for example, the 22nd, 23rd, and 24th of December are particularly bad.

Get The Right Apps

You need to make technology work for you when you are traveling for business. In August, we wrote a post about the Must Have 2017 Travel Apps. Check it out and download the apps that will make your business travel that bit easier this winter.

Choose The Right Ground Transportation

At Premier Limo we have over 30 years’ experience in ground transportation services in Connecticut. That means we know how to operate in the holiday season, and we know how to deal with winter weather. If you want to take the stress out of your ground transportation book onto our Connecticut Ground Transportation Service. Travel in style, luxury, and comfort.
